Our Lady & St Alphege’s new priest

We are pleased to announce that Bishop Declan has made a swift replacement at St Alphege's Parish following the tragic death of Fr. Kevin Knox-Lecky. Fr. Michael Fontaine has been invited to be Parish Priest at St Alphege's and will take up his appointment after Christmas. We are very pleased to welcome Fr. Michael to our Deanery and thank God for the pastoral care he will bring to our neighbours at St Alphege's to assist them in their time of grief.

Fr. Michael brings very special gifts to Bath having served for 10 years as the Pastor of St Dunstan's, Keynsham. Bishop Declan has not been able to announce his successor at Keynsham and he will continue as Director of the Diocesan Department of Liturgy. He has served as Dean of Bristol South assisting the work of clustering within the busy city parishes of Bristol including Clifton Cathedral and St Mary's on the Quay. We wish him much happiness in his new Parish and assure him of a warm welcome here at St John's.
