The Church and the NGOs: Their impacts on addressing ecological, water and agricultural challenges in Northern Uganda

Environmental (ecological) and water challenges directly affect the livelihoods and agricultural activities of many communities in Northern Uganda, including Karamoja region.
CAFOD and CARITAS are among the many NGOs working to restore the livelihoods and agricultural activities of these communities by addressing the environmental, particularly ecological and water challenges, following the long period of political instability - Lord Resistance Army (LRA) War.
The Catholic church has also been actively involved in addressing environmental/ecological challenges in Northern Uganda.
The talk will give the speaker's personal overview of:
- The strategies being used by CAFOD, CARITAS, and the Catholic Church in addressing these challenges.
- His research on the landraces of common beans from Zambia, and their use in addressing environmental challenges.
- Apersonal perspective regarding GM use in Agriculture. An opportunity to contribute to a collection to support CAFOD's work.
