The Knights of St Columba Crib
The Knights of St Columba Crib was originally displayed in the centre of Bath 68 years ago to remind everyone about the true meaning of Christmas.
The Crib is this year installed in a shop window No.4 Upper Borough Walls and we urge you to visit it.
Over the years it has raised thousands of pounds for local charities. This year we are raising money for the Local BATH LIFE HOUSE which provides accommodation and support for young pregnant girls and women before and after the birth of their child. Emphasis is on training the residents in baby care and life skills, to enable them to live happy successful lives when rehoused. The LIFE House has 5 bedrooms and a shared kitchen and a dining room and a lounge with a view over Bath; also a utility room and sunny garden. There is a paid support worker and volunteer helpers.
The LIFE House was set up by the Bath LIFE Group in 1988 and opened by our then MP Mr Chris Patten. The LIFE House always has a waiting list and every gift of help is precious and helps support the courage of these mothers. See www.lifecharity.org for more details.
